It has been a bumpy ride for us over the last 18 months. Like every church, we have faced lockdowns and restrictions. When it was not possible for us to meet in person, we started producing online services and sermons. We never pretended this was an adequate substitute, but it was what we could do.
But not only that. In March 2020 we were told that the building we had been renting was unsafe and that we would need to vacate it. So, when restrictions began to lift in July 2020, our only option was to begin meeting in the open air in Damson Lane Park, right behind our previous meeting place. We worked hard with the local council to prove that we were acting safely and responsibly. However, a core of our people were determined to continue to meet. Then in October, another local church agreed to let us use their building for our afternoon services. So at least we were up and running with both morning and afternoon worship, albeit under restrictions.
Thankfully, with all legal restrictions being removed in July this year, places have been opening up and we have been able to secure a regular meeting place for our services - Tudor Grange Academy in Solihull - and we begin meeting on Sunday, 5th September. We are thankful to our God for this provision.
Please remember us in prayer:
that our members return to regular healthy patterns of worship.
that we can begin to reach out to the new locality with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
